I noticed the movie theater was absent... a lot of people were worried about that. I wonder, though, what the appear of a college is; it's not like we have _that_ many people in the area who are of that age and philosophy.
If they enlarge 38, this could actually work. Since they're not building housing on top of it, they way the existing Mercaz turned out, I suppose it's less invasive; quite frankly, I'd rather live half a kilometer from a giant mall than on top of a moderately sized shopping area (then again, I deliberately didn't buy in the merkaz...)
There is a large mall, that may have a movie theater in it. Malls can have many types of stores etc,
If they enlarge 38...I wish they would this thing is going to cause the worst traffic jams yet, it took them years to do any construction at all on 38 and I cant imagine they will do any now.
The congestion of traffic into the Rama will be bad...
Well, some people thought buying apartments on top of an existing shopping area (and one that was slated to grow) was a good idea, so I guess it takes all kinds.
I see kids going off the derech in the park every Shabbos, this is going to just make it worse!
Relax... we're doing out best to throw them out (or occasionally help), but so far, they just keep remaining. Apparently, their parents live here... ~shrug~.
Trust me; no one ever went off the derech due to a shopping mall. Ever. And it's not like it's going to be open on Shabbos for them to hang out, which is more than I can say for the park.
mike, when was the last time you were in a mall? what kind of kids hang out there ecspecially at night? do you want to have to try to get them out of the mall too? there are enough bored teenagers in the entire area to keep a mall in business

when was the last time you were in a mall? The day before 17 tammuz; kenyon Yerushalayim.
what kind of kids hang out there ecspecially at night? Two kinds; bored kids, and those who need to buy things.
do you want to have to try to get them out of the mall too? Nope... not my job. I'm not the police, looking for criminal activity, and I'm not part of a communally accepted beis din who has the halakhic power to enforce standards. They have parents.
I don't think anybody else is interested in throwing them out either so why not stop the thing before you guys have a problem. from what I heard from friends in rbs the park problem also started with "bored teenagers"

I see kids going off the derech in the park every Shabbos, this is going to just make it worse!
